List Volumes from a Command Prompt

On occasion it is useful to be able to list computer volume information from a command prompt.  One way to do this is using the diskpart utility.  The nice thing is that this utility is most often made available from boot command prompts when you are running from a command prompt provided by a utility like PE tool provided in Windows Automated Installation Kit.

At a command prompt simply type diskpart and wait for the program to launch.  Once it has launched then type “list volume” and a list of the volumes and related information will be written to the console.  HTH
