I was visiting a photography blog the other day and was having a lot of trouble reading it.  All of the links we blending into the background.  Being color blind I was wondering if it was just me and that was the way it was intended.  When I asked the site owner about it he said it was a problem with IE and didn't know how to fix it.

Of course being the geek that I am I couldn't leave it at that.  I pulled down the source (evidently a WordPress template) and his style sheets.  Everything looked fine, it just wasn't working as intended.

I did a test and verified that it was working fine in Firefox.  I fiddled around for a while and put "important!" in a few places and what do you know.  It works, for the most part.

So where is this long story going?  It astounds me that in this day of standard that two browsers can't implement styles in a standard way.  Of course I can remember even in the days of IE 3 putting in Javascript checks.  Heaven forbid you had the AOL version.  When will they learn?
